In the 1990's, I remember being overwhelmed by the scent of hot pretzels, pizza, exhaust fumes from city buses and fragrant incense smoke from the Muslims selling books on the Coliseum block in Jamaica Queens. Raised in an Afro-Caribbean family medicinal herbs, spices and organic food was a normal part of everyday life. After graduating High School I followed my heart, left University and embarked on a spiritual path of healing and understanding. I started off sidewalk vending when I turned 18, created Bling Village and House of Holistic products for personal use before deciding to share my creations with others. Several years later reconnecting with my African roots I am still on my journey living my passion in creative consciousness. The goal of Bling Village is to produce and supply some of highest quality products we can source using traditional recipes. We want to share what we have learned along our life experience, we look forward to partnering with your business.

Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants.
The oils capture the plant’s scent and flavor, or “essence.”
Unique aromatic compounds give each essential oil its characteristic essence.
Essential oils are obtained through distillation (via steam and/or water) or mechanical methods, such as cold pressing.
Once the aromatic chemicals have been extracted, they are combined with a carrier oil to create a product that’s ready for use.
The way the oils are made is important, as essential oils obtained through chemical processes are not considered true essential oils.
